The Cost Estimate

We understand that receiving an accurate estimate is exceedingly important to our customer when building using the cost-plus method. We will work with you to gather all the information we can about your project on the front end, so that we can provide you with a detailed estimate of the cost to build your custom home prior to construction.

Quality Control

Building a custom home is a complex process, and because every home we build is a prototype design, we only get one chance to build it. Prior to starting each project, we conduct plan review meetings so that we can proactively prevent mistakes and ensure smooth construction. By thoroughly examining floor plans, we can identify potential design flaws, discrepancies, or ambiguities that may lead to errors or delays during construction.

The Client Portal

If there is anything we have learned over the years of building custom homes, it is that our customers cannot have too much information about the building process. While we make it a point to communicate with our customers continually during construction, we also provide a customer website for each project that allows our clients to see construction schedules, project financials, change orders, job documents, and other information any time day or night.

Pre-Construction Meeting

At Legacy Classic Homes, we believe that providing our customers with realistic expectations about what to expect during the building process is the easiest way to provide an enjoyable experience. Building your dream home is always an exciting prospect, but it can also be a bit of an emotional rollercoaster with happy times and stressful decisions to make. We want to be honest and upfront with you about what to expect before we start construction, so we will meet with you before we start to review the building process.

Selections Process

If there is any facet of building a custom home that seems to fill some of our customers with anxiety, it is the decorating selection process. Some enjoy this part of the build the most, while others dread having to choose the color of their wall paint or flooring tile. To help make this part of the build easier for all of our customers, we use vendors with full-service showrooms with consultants to advise you on the various selections you will need to make. For those customers who really don’t trust themselves to make decisions about their decorating selections, we can set you up with a fully turnkey interior designer to help guide you through the design phase.

ON-SITE MEETINGS

We encourage our customers to meet with us every week or two onsite to review the progress of the build. There is nothing more helpful than walking the house to discuss ideas or for us to help you visualize how an aspect of the house is going to look.

Homeowner Orientation

When we say ‘homeowner orientation,’ we mean it; we want to help familiarize you with all aspects of your new home! We don’t want you to have to call us the first week in the home because you don’t know how to set the timer on your hot water recirculating pump or work your thermostat. We also want to take this time to discuss what you can expect going forward while living in your new home as well as review our warranty procedures in the event they are required. This is the most exciting time in the entire build, and we want you to settle into your new home confident you understand its features inside and out!
